Tekken Talk #2 - Markman & Rip with Special Guests Harada & Michael Murray

Tekken Talk Episode 2 with special guests Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray from the Tekken team is now up on YouTube. Lots of interesting topics discussed such as the PC version of Tekken 7, Tekken X Street Fighter, Tekken Ball, post launch support, console/PC cross play and a bunch more. I'm going to throw this out there and say I'm all for post launch support for Tekken as it keeps things fresh and exciting and makes people come back for new content. Whether it is small things like new costumes & customizations or maybe something big like a game expansion that adds more Street Fighter characters turning it into Tekken X Street Fighter. (Don't go wild with that idea please internet, I'm not saying they're going to do that haha.) And of course, hearing that Harada himself is a big PC gamer and that all features that you can come to expect from a standard PC game are to be expected is very reassuring news for the PC version in comparison to certain other games with poor quality PC ports in recent times. Bandai Namco Open House 2016 Media Coverage

UPDATE: Added Anime News Network Interview with Harada.

To showcase Tekken 7 Fated Retribution, Bandai Namco organized "Open House 2016" last week which invited journalists to their new studio in Santa Clara, California to dig into the minds of Tekken's lead Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray. We are now starting to see the media coverage from this opportunity surface on the internet and I'll be gathering all I could find here. The interviews to come from this divulges a lot of interesting announcements and developments as well as thought processes going into the game and the player communities and it's all well worth the read for people following the Tekken series. I'll be updating this piece as we go along but here is what's out there so far.

Katsuhiro Harada & Michael Murray Interview at Final Round 19

Final Round 19 took place last month and it was the first available play-test for the upcoming Fated Retribution expansion to Tekken 7. It was also announced at the event that Bandai Namco Entertainment America is organizing a Tekken Tour that will see the game being available to play at multiple tournaments throughout the year in the North America region featuring cash prizes. (Note: full details for the Tekken tour have yet to appear.) With that, all the Tekken 7 action throughout all participating tournaments have been organized and archived into the official BNEA's Fight Channel. The latest upload from the channel includes a video interview with Tekken project lead Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray from Final Round 19 as they both share their thoughts and hints on what's to come regarding the title. TEKKEN's 20th Anniversary Thanksgiving Event Announced

The TEKKEN franchise is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary this month and Bandai Namco has announced that they're holding a 'Thanksgiving' event for all fans of the series to celebrate. The niconico broadcast of this event will feature the latest Tekken game: TEKKEN 7 with a 'Exhibition Tournament' featuring some 'world champions' of the series. Of course, the latest news on TEKKEN 7 will be revealed in the event as well as have special guests Katsuhiro Harada and Yuriko Tiger in the broadcast. There are to be more special guests in the event but they haven't yet been announced. The niconico stream of this event will occur on the 7th of December, 2014 and run from 12:30 PM until 6:00 PM Japan time.
