Small News & Updates Round Up 6/15

There's a few things I'd like to briefly cover real quick so I'm stringing up this post to quickly go through everything currently going on. It covers my YouTube channels, the status of the donation drive, upcoming tournaments and a little more.

▌Change of YouTube Operation
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

For fans of my YouTube channel where I would upload archives of Japanese niconico broadcasts, I'd like to quickly say that I'll be shifting which channel I'll be using to upload videos too..... Again. The copyright strike I got on my old YouTube channel (Flying Wonkey 2013) has just expired on this past Saturday meaning I can now upload videos longer then 15 minutes onto that channel. The newer channel (Flying Wonkey 2014) is going to be deleted as I'll be re-uploading everything from the 2014 channel back to my older channel (2013 'main' channel). It's going to take a few days (hopefully) for me to re-upload all the 2014 footage to the main channel but as soon as a video is done being moved it's getting deleted on the 2014 channel.

Flying Wonkey 2013 (Main) ▶ https://www.youtube.com/user/FlyingWonkey1

Flying Wonkey 2014 (To be deleted) ▶ https://www.youtube.com/user/flyingwonkey2014

Most of the subscribers are on the older channel and maintaining 2 YouTube channels has become a bit of a hassle so I hope to have this done as quickly and smoothly as possible.

▌Strongstyle~5 Donation Drive
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

Current status ▶ $397.04 AUD raised out of $1700 goal

Thanks to the following people for donating:

  • Nudimon
  • AAK
  • Noodlehead
  • AlexR
  • Run It Black
  • Tekkombat
  • and several other people but I don't know their online handle. (Dow, Danny, Emil, Vincent, Jeremy, Jonas & Jarell)

I've got 60 days before Paypal gets rid of the 'issue a refund' button so the deadline for this fundraiser will be at EVO weekend. (First donation was from Nudimon on the 15th of May.)

If you would like to contribute, you can use either the following link or donate button here:

By the way, Bronson was actually serious on that recent episode of ATP Live that if people aren't donating because of there being no stream, he can guarantee one streaming station at Norcal Strong Style where I'll play all my matches on. If that's what people want, why not let him know through twitter or something? ▶ @brnsntrn. We can probably set up a milestone goal with this donation drive, something like if we get over $1000 raised by the end of this month we'll have one stream station at the event.

▌Japan
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

DOUBLE CUP MASTERCUP W1 Climax just recently announced that they're adding another 2 set of TTT2 cabinets meaning they can add another 14 teams to the tournament. Good for those in Japan I guess. Most notable entry on the website is team 41. Tokyo Extreme Tekken Club which is made up of Nobi, Yuu and Pekosu. Hope that doesn't hurt Pekosu's chances of coming to EVO.

Promotional Video:

TAKE - The Japanese Bryan/Bob player who you may remember from his trip to Korea with LATHIN in Green Arcade before got to the Tekken God rank recently by beating Matsuken in the Akihabara Leisureland arcade after Kurokuro hosted a 5on5 event with players in different regions. There are no archive of the Take VS Matsuken match unfortunately. Take joins Nobi, Furumizu, Deku, Genkids and Taisei as the only people in Japan to get that rank ever since TTT2 launched in arcades. You can watch the 5on5 Regional event here:

▌Tournament Calender 6/15
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

▌Video Embed Test
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

Audio disabled because I couldn't figure out how to embed that without it autoplaying. Video hosting through pomf.se.

▌Recent YouTube Channels
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

I mean 'recent' as in YouTube channels that are recently active and also aren't as well known as most other channels.

Socal Tekken have a YouTube channel now which is useful if you happen to keep missing their Live streams:

URL ▶ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY6GReNYTXdCUhRfZSlLFUA

Shudy - the Jin/Lee player from Japan has a YouTube channel and sometimes uploads interesting combos and set-ups with the team. Really useful if you play that team.

URL ▶ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClDowDl3G_i7ZfsomBf3m7Q

Real Menace from the UK has a YouTube channel with a bunch of TTT2 matches. Primarily a Devil Jin and Bob player. Ignore all the Ultra Street Fighter stuff.

Another from the UK, King Jae uploads TTT2 matches as well as educational small guides for specific character techniques.

▌Tekken at E3
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

Tekken had no presence at E3 this year. Any further announcements regarding Bandai Namco titles currently in development are presumably coming in events in the near future.

  • EVO 2014 (July 11 - 13)
  • San Diego Comic-Con (July 24 - 27)
  • Tokyo Game Show (September 18 - 21)
  • Tekken's 20th Anniversary (December)

Additionally, the Tekken-Official website (JP) has recently been updated to sport a new look. It also now properly interacts and scales with mobile phone devices.
