MATADOR CUP 5 | Japanese 5on5 Tournament Streamed From A-cho

UPDATE: Tournament is now over and results have been added.

MATADOR CUP 5 tournament is streamed live from the renowned A-cho arcade in Kyoto, Japan and features a great amount of teams entered which sums up to 420 players competiting. South Korea sent two teams over which features great players like Jundding, HelpMe, Nin, Saint and more to the tournament to once again take a shot at toppling the Japanese community at their hometurf. Fortunately for most of us, the tournament is held in the A-cho arcade so that means A-cho will provide a stream of the tournament onto their Ustream channel as opposed to niconico. Be sure to tune in if you have the time as this will be entertaining to watch!

Matador Cup 5 - Another Korean Team Entered, Collaborative PV Released

Another Korean team has been spotted on the team list page for the tournament and it features some recognizable players. Okay (Wang/Jinpachi), Liliman (Lili/Devil Jin), Bohee (Steve/Miguel), Sonic (Bryan/Ganryu) & finally Malgu (Law/JACK-6) have been entered into the tournament. Just as an added refresher, the team is entered into the tournament's preliminary contest so they will have to be one of the 14 winning teams to advance to the main phases of the tournament. Additionally, MASTERCUP have also released a new Combo PV in collaboration with the 'Tekken special analyzer’s' team that's entered into the tournament. It features combos performed by Ortega, STL, Monga Munga & Fuu-chikurin.

Matador Cup 5 - Japanese 5on5 Tournament in A-cho Arcade Announced

Quietly announced at last years MASTERCUP.6 tournament, the official MASTERCUP website reveals Japan's next big Tekken tournament: "MATADOR CUP 5." Titled after famed Japanese player Matador, the 5on5 TTT2 tournament will be held in Kyoto's A-cho arcade on the 22nd of March and will have team limits capped at 56 teams allowing a maximum of 280 players in the tournament. In the announcement, Matador shares with us that he hopes to see a lot of the more unknown players with great talent in Japan come out and make a name for themselves on the tournament stage. Should more details on this tournament arise in the future (If there's no stream for this tournament, there will at least be archives on the MASTERCUP YouTube channel), I'll be sure to keep everyone posted.
