Tekken 7: Details on the Upcoming Practice Mode for Arcades

UPDATE: Practice Mode has been delayed. It was originally slated to release in arcades on March 26 but now it says the mode will be available 'on a day after March 26'. There's no solid date for it's release now, but when it's ready, a new date for the mode will be announced. You can still see details on the mode below but just keep in mind that the Practice Mode won't arrive tomorrow.

Tekken 7 will be getting Practice mode tomorrow in arcades and as such, the official site has recently published images and details on it's implementation. It's interesting to glance over this update seeing as it's quite the robust training mode with most of the features you'd come to expect from the console Tekken's Practice mode. The most basic detail of the mode is that 1 credit will give you 5 minutes within the mode and when the time is up, you get the option to quit the mode or insert more credits which will give you bonus of 7 minutes for your next session. You can find more details of the Practice mode on the official website and I've glossed over most of the features below.

Quick details on the Practice mode are:

1 credit will give you 5 minutes within the Practice mode. Practice mode will be added to arcades on 3/26 after a scheduled Tekken-net maintenance & update. You can select the Practice mode on the bottom right corner of the main menu screen. (green box)

You can select whichever character for yourself and the CPU as well as the stage to practice on.

▌Tekken 7 Practice Mode Options
 ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄

Pushing the start button in Practice mode brings up the following menu screen. The following options to choose from are: (listed from top to bottom as it appears in the image)

  • MODE SELECT: You can cycle between two options here, 'Freestyle' & 'VS CPU Training'
  • CPU ACTION: You can cycle between all the actions you want the CPU opponent to do in the mode. By default, the option is set to leave the CPU standing there.
  • GET-UP ACTION: From here, you can select the action you want the CPU opponent to perform while getting up from the ground.
  • COUNTER: Toggle Counter-hits for your attacks on and off.
  • RAGE SETTING: Toggle Rage on/off for your character.
  • COMMAND HISTORY: Display all directional and button inputs you perform on screen.
  • POSITION RESET: Toggle the Position Reset function on/off.
  • CHARACTER SELECT: Go back to the character select screen and change characters.
  • STAGE SELECT: Go back to the stage select screen and change the stage.

▌Tekken 7 Practice Mode Misc Info

Just some bits of info on the mode for some of the functions:

Once 5 minutes are up, you get given a screen to either leave the game or to re-insert more credits to continue. Should you chose to continue, you will receive 7 minutes in your next Practice mode session.

Once you have the Position Reset function on, the input to perform the action will be RK + START.

Options to Position Reset near wall breaks or balcony breaks will appear on stages that have them.

In the case that you break a wall or balcony on a stage, they will not re-appear. The Position Reset option will then default to the next area of the stage continuing after the wall/balcony break.

It's recommended that If you want to re-spawn those stage elements, it's required to go back to the stage select screen and pick the same stage again.

Your 5 minutes of Practice mode time is still consumed when you go from the Practice mode to the character or stage select screen.

While in Practice Mode, other players will not be able to interrupt your session and challenge you.
