Mortal Kombat: New Tag Footage

Some fairly interesting footage here. This looks like a legit match video minus the life bars.

It seems that you can follow major combo possibilities with Kitana's fan Lift.

Can someone explain to me how to punish moves in this game? I mean some special attacks are pretty easy to deal with but I have no idea how to defend when I'm getting spammed by string attacks constantly. Is there some kind Tekken-style jab interrupt mechanic?

I noticed that the hit ranges are really weird, or at least I'm not accustomed to them yet. First of all most if not all high attacks will whiff on blocking crouchers but will connect on regular crouchers. Throws will whiff on regular crouchers but will connect on blocking crouchers! Now the latter really doesn't make alot sense to me because I think throw breaking is difficult enough with the very short break window (shorter than in Tekken i think) and that the two throw types can't be visually distinguished. Also you can't break throws while you're blocking.

That shit is mad hype ! This game looks more and more for serious every time new footage is released.

MK is looking sick and should be fun to play, but I'm still holding my breath on it being a solid, competitive fighting game because some of the things about this game make no sense. I'm waiting for the final product to come out so that I can judge for myself.

Totally agree with Roncock, shit's broken! I hope they fix all of these issues before release time.

Looks more respectable than the demo.

I just don't get why the movement still looks crapper than most other fighting games out there. Hopefully this will be a good game if it feels anything like MK3 it should. I have to say, it does not look like it doing anything new though.

Man, this actually might be a good game. Too bad about being banned in Austrailia.

Aris: In the lastest podcast you briefly mentioned that you're not liking the MK demo so far. Are you planning to make another YT video or some other way publicly cover your final thoughts on the demo before the release of the full game?

I'll wait till the final game is out, mostly to see if NR studios can catch some of the problems I've found.
