Official 1080p/60fps YouTube Uploads Of Lucky Chloe and New Tekken 7 Trailer

It took a while but Bandai Namco have just uploaded the official 1080p/60fps YouTube version of the trailers recently revealed during the 20th Anniversary event in Japan this past weekend. I believe you'll still need Chrome to watch the footage in 60fps but If you don't want that then I guess you can try downloading the videos to your PC (JDownloader2 supports it) and watching it in full HD. Enjoy the footage from the official Tekken YouTube channel.

Nope ANCN, I do make perfect sense (your problem if you can't see it) boxing kangaroos actually do exist and are therefore "realistic" by definition (I think you even have have ppl posting links in previous thread). Also it is actually a REAL joke character because joke actually has point; its making fun of boxing kangaroo trope, which actually has something to do with fighting; a theme of a game. On other hand; theres absolutely NOTHING realistic about this; she doesn't qualify as a fighter by the looks, behavior or personality. She being able to kick Steve's ass has the same logical sense as my 14 years old balet dancing cousin doing it. Also there's absolutely nothing realistic about break-dancing fighting style (at least the way she is doing it). Also I've never argued for actual "realism", so don't try to make it about that...
Oh Elisa? What example of successful and popular character design, we gonna definitely be seeing her more more in the future (haha, sarcasm). Also internet polls aren't really legitimate way of showing anything (cause there's plenty of ways for ppl to abuse them and cheat the result), also many ppl voted for her simply because she seamed the best bad option.
SW is "ultimate example of a franchise" in which everyone agrees that the new(now already old) movies suck. If you want to argue that its better to make shit game then no game at all when it comes to game sales, then yes, you got me there; selling something is better then nothing (don't mind if series loses its credibility and respect along the way). Also to paraphrase Mr.Plinkett: OMG are you seriously using SW prequels as positive example?
"T3 was a once in a generation game and the characters/story had little to do with its success (It had Gon in it who is way worse than Chloe)." Characters designs (which basically make a fighting game) having nothing with it success? Haha sorry, I won't even indulge that with reply (and I don't have to since you didn't give any proof or reasoning to back this assertion up). Also Gon was the ultimate universally excepted joke character; he was banned both from tournaments and casual matches. He didn't even have a slot on default char selection screen. Are you saying that this char should get the same treatment? Also its not just Tk3, all vanilla Tekkens and Tk5 did way better then TTT2 did...
And my bad for not explicitly refuting generic "don't like it, don't play it argument" right away also, cause I should have know someone will bring this up (although if you read between the lines, I did). This kind of logic simply doesn't apply to fighting games (or any competitive game in general for that matter), because you have to deal with, and if you wan't to be serious about the game, even learn the characters which you don't like. Harada even himself said something similar, but in other context, when he was talking about SFxTk DLC char controversy. So no, bad character design do in fact "take something away". Even if you disregard gameplay part, a simply unappealing character design from perspective of raw art design (the way char visually looks and moves, the way it sounds, the way it behaves, etc...) can downgrade the overall experience of the whole game and even discourage ppl from playing/buying the game in the first place (as apparently this char is doing).

Everyone who complains about tekken not being realistic, Virtua Fighter says hello. Well, it will say hello when they decide to release the sequel...
The point being, there are different types of fighting games. Find one you like and support it.

Well Turtle, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

When you say "she doesn't qualify as a fighter by the looks, behavior or personality..." I really do wonder if you have ever even played a Tekken game.

Ultimately you are trying to argue that a character is objectively bad based on your subjective opinions plus things that could be legitimate grievances if they didn't apply to like half the rest of the cast.

@ANCN
Well its not that simple, even though I deeply believe that "beauty is in the aye of the beholder", and that what is "good" or "bad" is relative to particular subject's standards which are based on personal preferences, it is however true that these standards have similarities from one individual to the other, cause ultimately we are not that different. Its the existence of these similarities that enables the designers (of any kind) to consistently put successful products and appease their clients. This is usually done by noticing certain trends and tendencies to which target demographic gravitates and then breaking them apart to come with functional theories, which can then be used to create successful products. And thats pretty much what I'm doing here; explaining what IMO tekken designers need to do (or not do) in order to create successful Tekken game. Thats what everybody is doing here really, and by saying "Ultimately you are trying to argue that a character is objectively bad based on your subjective opinions" you have only managed to undermine the premise that allowed you to defend character design as being good in the first place.
And please, don't get me wrong; I don't look down on ppl for liking her, or think they are somehow "wrong" for their personal tastes and preferences. I simply, like many other ppl here, think this is not the way to go if you wish to make successful Tekken game. The amount of negative feedback the character got is proof enough in my book...
Well ok then, I could kinda start repeating my self and going through all the reasons why this is pushing it like no other character design before, and that I have indeed played every tekken game before ;), but its clear you are not interested in participating in this conversation any further, so have it your way; agree to disagree...

@ANCN
"Statements like this are beyond retarded.

You “don’t think” Chloe will work? Based on what? The whiners on Twitter? Are you seriously claiming to have a better understanding about game design and marketing than Namco-Bandi who has sold millions of games over several decades???

The hardcore fanbase is too small now to support the series, so like it or not the need to try and reach out to more casuals.

If a few hardcore people don't like Chloe and leave then it really doesn't matter because they are a small minority of the potential sales at this point. "

It is based on opinions of European/American players from many websites... Not only Twitter. Lucky Chloe is the best example of reasons why they may be repelled by Tekken 7 or not be as satisfied with the game as they would be without Lucky Chloe. Maybe we can attract some/many Asian players or for example DOA players, but what about hardcore players from Europe and America? Adding LC is just unnecessary and we don't know what is coming, but I really hope there won't be many stupidly ridiculous endings, stupid animal chars(The best will be when animal chars absolutely not be in the game) or some/many stupid items in customization mode. When I mention Fight Lab goofy chars in TTT2 again, we have got the another reason... That are some of the reasons why are many players repelled by buying Tekken games nowadays. These things went wrong since T5.

How do you know the amount of hardcore Tekken fans(It's not only about tournament players, but they are too important because Tekken is fighting game). Do you think mainstream players are more important than hardcore/die-hard Tekken fans? It's not only about sales and Harada knows it very well. In one of his interviews he said(or something like that) he is sad that many players don't say Tekken is their the most favourited game or they don't "defend" the game. For example me, I can't say Tekken is my most favourited game because it is my 2nd most favourited game but I often "defend " the game. This opinion probably would remain the same even if Tekken hasn't got some goofy things I don't like but it's not only about me and many players would have got Tekken on their 1st place... Nobody knows how many Tekken hardcore fans(Not only tournament players) are "there"(It means the whole world), but the fact is the fanbase got reduced and "the progress" is continuing. Well, the another sadly fact is it's not only because of some goofy things I mention above. It was for example because of the biggest roster of Tekken in TTT2, the amount of frame datas, for many players juggles, Scenario Campaign from T6, bad network code etc. And there are the another reasons why many players are repelled by Tekken. So Harada and his team try to change it and we can see it in T7 even now but it won't be perfect. "A perfect game" doesn't exist.

You should realize it's not only about sales... The sales don't mean everything as I wrote above. Mainstream players will help to increase the sales but most of them probably won't become Tekken hardcore/die-hard fans who will importantly increase the amount of fanbase, who will play Tekken often/nearly "always", who will propagate the game, who probably will compete in tournaments(It doesn't matter how big the tournament is, even small tournaments help to increase the amount of fanbase during social interactions and then propagate the game more...), who will actively play online mode etc. Tekken is the most selling fighting series but the fanbase got reduced and that's bad. Tekken just mainly needs to attract many hardcore players...

We can go around in circles forever, but the fact remains that Chloe is here and will be in the game. It just another crazy addition to a crazy cast.

Are you going to keep crying in the fetal position about how Tekken is 'ruined' or are you going to join the party?

Friday, December 12, 2014 at 1:29 PM | Unregistered CommenterANCN

I didn't say Tekken is ruined. No, the game isn't ruined just because of some goofy things as LC or some stupidly ridiculous endings etc. I really think Tekken is brilliant, fantastic, I play it often and so I can continue... But as I wrote Tekken isn't "a perfect game" and won't be perfect. "A perfect game" doesn't exist and Tekken has got some things I don't like. I'll buy it and i still look forward to playing the game.

I think Lucky Chloe should be at least a bit revamped in terms of fighting style, costume and voice because the fact is there are many players that like LC or "tolerate" her, they are just passive about her and there are many players that don't like LC and really don't want her in the game. It's important if they are hardcore or mainstream players but Harada listen to both... Tekken needs to keep the actual fanbase, expand it, try to attract "former" Tekken fans etc. It also needs both of hardcore players and new players who may become hardcore players and just be die-hard fans, but well the sales are also important. So he should make some steps that will stop the controversy about LC and some goofy things many players don't like...

The fact is Lucky Chloe will be in the game but it doesn't mean Harada and his team shouldn't revamp LC or at least change some things about her. And OK, going around in circles is unnecessary. We'd rather play the game...

Friday, December 12, 2014 at 8:48 PM | Unregistered CommenterDanters

lucky Chloe already have a model, a voice actor, set of moves, personality, a concept art and it already unveiled and playable. do you think namco bandai would just throw all those money away to redesign and reboot her character again? I do admit she isn't a more character. she's more of a cosplayer than a jpop idol, unlike the concept art.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:03 AM | Unregistered Commentert3k4evo

what I mean is moe. its this stupid autocorrect. anyway, if you all want to change the series for the better you have to ask; is this game entertaining and fun? is it good to watch? because watched the 20th anniversary ttt2 exhibition match and its hilarious in a bad way. even the pros are having a hard time playing the game.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:11 AM | Unregistered Commentert3k4evo

My question is:"Do you think they should do nothing with negative opinions about LC from many American/European (Mostly hardcore I quess) players?". The game isn't 100% complete so they can at least a bit change some things on her and respectively not only about her... As I wrote above Tekken is really fantastic but it also has got its cons.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 5:49 AM | Unregistered CommenterDanters

They should make her cat costume an alternate. That would diminish the public angst.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 8:00 AM | Unregistered CommenterStarman

@Starman
Lucky Chloe or at least her cat costume should be as free DLC in Europe and America (Maybe also in Asia, I don't think every player in Japan and other Asian regions likes her because Asian players aren't monotonous in their preferences). If somebody wants her in T7, he/she will download it. If somebody doesn't want her in T7, he/she won't download it.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:55 AM | Unregistered CommenterDanters

do you all mean make her model like in the concept art? because that's her con, she don't look like a teenager. if namco could make a better marketing scheme to introduced her as a character, it should be the cg film approach just like the teaser t7 trailer. I don't like her too, some asian tekken players don't like her either. but not because of the jpop image. western audience already have there fun with ttt2. flashy moves, updated graphics, customizations, weapons, long combos, many characters, destructible environment and flashy stages. it didn't sell as expected. if you all want to know how namco can improve tekken read cuntymccunt posts. the reason why cunty post on lucky Chloe takes too long because that player knows its not lucky Chloe the problem with tekken.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 12:32 PM | Unregistered Commentert3k4evo

let's not to get cunty just trolling everyone even with the unban. cunty didn't even take lucky Chloe seriously. just make fun of the character and Japan weirdness, and pleading to the community that cunty shouldn't be unban. everyone here thinks after the unban that cunty have a piece of player's mind about lucky Chloe. nope. just nonsense generalization and stereotype. its only after the next article that cunty is serious again.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 12:46 PM | Unregistered Commentert3k4evo

its let's not forget, not lets not to get! guuh! hate autocorrect so much! is there a edit function on this site? because proofreading is a hassle.

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 12:51 PM | Unregistered Commentert3k4evo

You know what would be totally amazing? If Harada for Tekken 7, like he did in TTT2, where he got Snoop Dog to sing a song, if he got Justin Bieber to do a song for Tekken 7, thinking that would please the Westens World since Bieber is so popular here. Wouldn't that just be completely fantastic? I think so.

Remember, Harada could actually easily do that! This is the same guy who gave us the option of having a salmon in Tekken Revolution. A fish that lays on the ground popping eggs! That's the description he gave us! And these characterdesigns were something they already had worked a bit on, but that didn't make the cut in previous games!!!!! He said it himself!!!

And I can't call him a cunt anymore...!!!!! (Man, I need more exclamaitionmarks...)

Also, I love t3k4evo's posts... man, which language is that suppose to be? It's not even coherent sentences.

Any-hoo.. I actually have nothing against Lucky Chloe per se. It's just her personality and her thin squicky childish voice and all that "Oooookkkk... BYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, See U next TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" kind of behaviour that just boils my blood..!! We're all going to get real annoyed when we're gonna get trolled online by a semi-skilled Fujin who decides to main her.

And to all the people calling for realism and actual martial arts in Tekken.. are you serious?? When was the last time you kept someone airborne while jabbing their ancles, like we do in combos in Tekken?? You ask for realism?? There is nothing realistic about juggles! Nothing in Tekken is realistic. Nobody can survive been thrown in a vulcano. Men don't have these kind of bulging muscles and yet be this agile. Skinny women like Nina, Anna, JayCee, Lili etc would NEVER be able to beat a seven hundred pound robot no matter how skilled they were at any martial arts. And so on and on... it's fucking videogame! Stop taking it so serious. It's not a ph.d in cancertreatment!

So PUH-LEASE guys, just stop your whining! It is mr. Harada-San (peace be upon his soul) who knows best and he would never do anything bad to Tekken!

Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:10 PM | Unregistered CommenterCunty McCunt

What did I post you all about cunty? Did really that fit the description? And Im sorry about the language, Im from asia not a native english speaker.

" I actually have nothing against Lucky Chloe per se. It's just her personality and her thin squicky childish voice and all that "Oooookkkk... Im glad you just show up, because thats what Namco wants to read. As for the story and tekken being unrealistic, do you know that harada really didnt created tekken? he isnt even the director. Just watch the ending credits of tekken 1 on PSX. I really just dont get it how suddenly the fans of this series thinks this game is serious. Namco just decided to make a cult of personality out of Harada. Thats why I always posts namco, namco, namco, tekken team, tekken team. Everyone here even you thinks its harada that have the final decision on making the game. But its on the higher ups above him have the main control. He is just a figurehead. Harada didnt even created lucky chloe, its yusuke kozaki the designer of no more heroes series and fire emblem awakening. Harada just hire him to make a character that appeal to young girls and japanese women. But its the higher ups and harada that change chloe from the concept art to what we seen today. So this controversy isnt linear as everyone thinks.
