Tekken 6:BR Wins The Best Income Award In Japan

Tekken is once again the most popular and lucrative fighting game in Japanese arcades. Harada posted on his TWITTER that Tekken 6 BR has won the "Best Income Award" for the second year in a row. All that's left is for Tekken to catch up in the American market.

I wish it could win that award in the U.S.

This is a victory for every Tekken fan, yet it will never be like that in the U.S. because streetfighter is just to easy of a game. I hope tekken doesn't get easier, its like having a built in srub defense.

This news could probably be an eye opener to some people, especially in the US.

It's interesting how it's getting way more comments on Street Fighter focused websites.

Just saw subt-L's post on SRK, I think he brings up a good point:

"as a tekken tournament organizer, its good to make people aware that tekken isn't simply some second cousin no one likes to talk about".

This definitely seems to be a widespread belief among the more "casual" (for lack of a better term) fighting game fans. I mean, it's impossible to discuss Tekken on multi-game streams when Tekken comes on, just makes me sad every time.

It is such a different culture over there. Consoles? Who needs them.
